Psalm 34.1-3
“I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.”
We have much to praise God for, and there is great power in giving the Lord the honor and praise He deserves. However, in the midst of the daily demands and challenges of life, we can neglect our praise to God.
During the worship service on Sunday, we stand and sing and offer praise, but during the week we sometimes forget to worship and offer praise to the Lord. But let us never forget that worship is not something we do only on Sundays or only at church.
Like the Psalm says at the top: ““I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
There is great power in our acknowledgement that the Lord is worthy of our worship and praise. It doesn’t matter how well we sing. It doesn’t matter if we like upbeat worship, more reflective songs, or traditional hymns. It doesn’t matter if we’re alone, with a few, or in a big group. It doesn’t even matter whether we “feel” like it or not.
What matters is that we express our praise and thanksgiving to our Creator, Savior, and King. “My mouth is filled with your praise, and with you glory all the day.” (Psalm 71.8)
